Charging for access to your AI
Your AI can be a subscription-based product, so your expertise becomes available 24/7, you help more people without requiring more of your time, and you create a new revenue stream.

How to set up charging for access to your AI
You can use our in-built payment feature, operated through the trusted payment platform Stripe, to charge for access to your AI. Find this in your AI settings.

Enable chargeable access
- Click on your avatar image in the top right and select AI settings from the menu.
- Under 'Access settings', toggle on 'Charge for access'.
Important: Only complete these steps when you're ready to launch, as changing the settings later needs manual actions by the Coachvox team.
Connect Stripe
- The first step is to click 'Connect Stripe' and set up a Stripe account.
Note: Even if you already use Stripe, you will need to make a new account for your Coachvox AI. This is free to create.
VERY IMPORTANT!
- It is not possible to create another Stripe account at a later date. Therefore, please DO NOT under any circumstances cancel or delete the connected Stripe account, as this will break things and cannot be reset.
- If you need to make changes to your Stripe account, such as the email address and business details, you can edit this directly within Stripe.
Set your price
You can set the following:
- Currency > $ USD or £ GBP
- Price > You can only set one price, but you can offer discount coupons to facilitate different rates
- Subscription timeframe > whether you charge weekly or monthly
Note: You will receive the subscription amount less 2.9% Stripe fees and 10% Coachvox fees. Our fee covers the necessary management, admin and support for this system.
Name your product
- Name your product as you'd like it to be displayed on client invoices.
Set trial days
- You can choose to enable clients to trial your AI for free initially.
- Leave this blank if you don't wish to offer a free trial.
Save your settings
- All done! Clients will now be asked to subscribe when they begin a chat.
IMPORTANT!
If you need to change any of the product settings (name, price, trial days) at a later date, email us and we will edit this for you. Please DO NOT change this within your Stripe account, as this will break the connection.
Offering coupons
We also enable you to offer clients coupons for discounts on their AI coaching subscription.
Once you've connected and verified a Stripe account and created a product within your Coachvox account, additional fields for setting up coupons will appear in the charge for access section.

You can create multiple coupons and for each, customise the following:
- Code - this will be the text code you provide to users of your AI to type in when they sign up.
- Discount - the percentage discount to apply to their weekly or monthly subscription.
- Duration - This can be set to 'once', meaning it applies to just the first subscription payment for each customer, or 'repeating', meaning it applies on an ongoing basis.
- Redemptions - The total number of different users who can use this coupon. Leave as 0 for unlimited.
Should you want to stop a coupon from being redeemed again, delete it within Coachvox. Any current subscriptions using that coupon will keep their discounts.
User subscription journey
Once you've enabled chargeable access, when someone begins a chat session with your AI, they will go through these steps:
Step 1: Provide their email, set a password and accept the T&Cs.

Step 2: Click 'subscribe to start chatting', then complete the Stripe checkout

Step 3: Provide their name and accept the AI usage terms and privacy policy.
They'll be shown a link to both the Coachvox privacy policy and your privacy policy (if you've added this).
They'll also be asked here for any additional details you've selected to collect, such as their last name and company name.

Making changes
- Stripe product - If you need to change any of the product settings (name, price, trial days), email us and we will edit this for you. Please DO NOT change this within your Stripe account, as this will break the connection and take time to rectify.
- Stripe Account - It is not possible to create and connect a new Stripe account once you've set this up. Therefore, DO NOT at any point cancel or delete your connected Stripe account. If you need to make edits, such as changes to your business details or bank account, you can do this within Stripe. Stripe support can always be contacted for help with this.
- Client subscriptions - Clients will have access to their own Stripe billing portal from the AI chat, via the cog icon. Here, they can update their payment method, change their billing details or cancel their subscription. If you need to cancel a subscription for a client, you can do this within your Stripe account.
